Hi folks, Just wanted to jump in for a sec. I'm going in for shoulder surgery next Tues. the 16th. Will be off work for 16-24 weeks.The shoulder will need muscle/tendon and rotator cuff repairs. I really ripped it up this time..Will have plenty of time to do some reloading,writing music, do some recording, might even make a music video too. Thanks for all well wishers when my wife was in the hospital about 1.5 years ago. Looks like it's my turn to get a vacation..What a way to do it though....Dave

I had my shoulder surgery done two years ago. All four of the tendons in the right shoulder and most of the upper biceps tendon had been torn away. It hurt. A lot. But I don't have to tell you that do I? You have my empathy as well as my sympathy! Anyway, the docs can do wonders today and while recovery will be slow it should come in time.

Be a good patient. MAKE SURE you follow your surgeon's instructions, especially about not moving the arm at all for a few weeks so those delicate reattachments can recover. I turned over in my sleep the first night and tore one part of the repair out, it still is, the arm is only about 50% effective because of that single misstep of a couple of seconds.

Hang tuff for this year and maybe you can hunt again next year!

Damn mate...that soounds nasty...a bit more than a "grease and oil change"....more like a "major service".

As wncchester said mate...do as you are told. The more you rest it all up, the better it will be and the quicker you will be back out there.

Good luck with the op mate, and here's hoping that you will heal up quickly and stronger.

Oh yeah...and leave those lovely young nurses alone.....they are for us young fellas.

Mate, whatever you do, be sure to give those parts a good rest and a chance to heal.
Forcing them too early may aggravate the problem.

Could develop a sort of kilroy complex!!!!! You youngsters probably don't remember, but he was everywhere!!

Sorry to hear about your luck fireball 3,I know first hand about those rotator cuff problems(been nursing a slight tear for over a year now,RS),and when the lawyers get all done with fighting and kissing-I will get the operation-no major cutting,just orthoscopic.Still the recovery time is down time,only being able to fly on one wing does'nt make life any easier.I hope that your surgery goes well and the down time is short and painless. Hopefully you have someone there at home to help with the chores and heavy lifting for the first part of recovery.I live alone and have a couple of hay burners to feed in the winter months and can tell you first hand it is a real b!tch to feed them one handed-let alone trying to trim their feet.Hopefully you have a good support base at home.Good luck!

Sorry to hear about your need for surgery, that is never a good thing. Be safe and do what the doctors tell you.
