Are the newer fiberoptic sights with the luminous circle around the pins better than the older ones without the circle? Some also have more light gathering fibers. The prices at the range pro-shop where I shoot indoors range from about $70 to $170. Would an upgrade be worth the cost?

I have a fiber optic HHA 5000 and it is VERY bright. I think is was around $100.00 I think it's worth the price.

Yes, they are worth it.
In low light they are worth every penny, like previously stated.
I have the older style, and would like to get the newer type, get the newest Tech.
Also, use a Wiskerbisket, the best rest made for hunting.

My grandfather invented the first fiberoptic bow sites that ran on batteries.

I use a Tru-Glo 5 pin fiber optic with the light attachment and I love it. The ring helps you align the sight in the peep.

As far as the "Whisker Biskit" goes, I don't like them. Too many cases of fletching being messed up. And just think about it, the whiskers make contact with the fletching which could alter your arrows flight.

I use A New Archery Products 360 Capture rest which, if installed and adjusted properly, makes no contact with the fletching.

Another rest that everybody seems to like is the drop-away rest. I've never tried rest but I've heard they work great.
