Think of it this way Duce, they rid you of your 308Win ammo so they are trying to give you something to do, dust off the reloading equipment and make some more.

Thanks for sharing with us, the happy moments and precise times with your sons on there time out.
Tell them we all wish them the best, and our prayer go out to them for a safe return.
God Bless your family, friends and sons.
Hopefully we can figure out someway to get out of this mess we have gotten into and start taking care of OUR problem here at home.

Hey 7mmmag, I was a ABE-1 aboard USS Ranger and before that I served aboard USS Constellation during Vietnam. Both of them are mothballed at Bremerton, WA. and I feel mothballed myself sometimes.
Duce, Thank your boys for me also for serving.

Duce,
Good for your sons and for you and mom. I know exactly how you feel. Our fine young man got back last week.
7mm you need to talk to the returning GIs. The story they tell is very different than what you hear from the media and the Billary train of liberal liars from Capitol Hill.

The folks that I've talked to who are in the military are pretty positive about what's going on "over there". Nobody involved ever thought it would be easy, despite what a few politicians and the media say.

Both my boys believe in there mission. There heart and soul are in helping the people of Afghanistan and Iraq. This is the first time my youngest son Matt ( the one with the hat) has been over seas. My oldest son is 21 and on his 3RD deployment the first in Afghanistan, the first 2 where in Iraq. He has told me many times the older men and women in Iraq have thanked him many times for being there and there scared to death that the USA will pull out and leave them. Believe it or not they want us there. Gary my oldest son is A sniper and has allot of stories he could share with you about the first time he went over there and how bad it was and how in his last deployment to Iraq how people in the streets would run out and try to point out the guys shooting at them so he could take them out. He also is talking now about how the Iraqi Army is really standing up and fighting right alone side the American troops and he says he would not hesitate to go into battle with them.

That is good to hear mate. I have friends over there in the aussie Army that are helping train the Iraqi soldiers and from the sounds of things it is working well.
I hear simlar sentiments about the Iraqi people from mates who have been over there on deployment with the aussie Army.
Maybe one day we will see a free and peaceful Middle East. However, I will not hold my breath waiting for it, as the problems they are suffering have been going on for thousands of years. Its the nature of the "beast" in that part of the world.
Cheers, Vince

Duce,
Acording to my son, the vast majority of the indiginous bad guys are visiting the virgins. The bad guys now are pretty much all foreign fighters. The native populations (I & A) are not happy with anyone that blows up their kids, wives, sisters, brothers or parents regardless of their "cause." The people have got a gut full of their people being killed by religious nuts from other countries.
Everyone is talking the Iraquis up for their work in the military. Their spl ops folks are very good and work alone in some instances and with good sucess. When you hear that a GI would have no problem with an Iraqui taking his back on an operation, we have come a long way.
