What are peoples interests as far as a "once in a lifetime" type hunting experience? I'd really love to hunt Africa, to take a Kudo. I would like to hunt some other african plains game but Kudo is #1 on the list for me. China Elk and Russian Brown Bear always sounded very interesting but they dont trump africa in my mind.
What about you guys?

Personally, I am not much into the exotics. I think just a good old fasioned Elk hunt in Arizona or New Mexico would suffice, or pheasant hunting in South Dakota. Leave for elk camp on Wednesday, can't wait.

Africa for me. Cape Buffalo is a dream, however, leopard and lion would trump a buff. Leopard over a freshly killed bait, and cutting a track on a pride of lions and tracking them to within spittin' distance would be a rush.
When Jack O'Connor was asked why he hunted the 'Big 5', he just said, "Because they shoot back!". Guess that's why I would like to try it!

Alaska for Brown Bear.
By the way 10ring, I knew a man who killed a grizzly with a Ruger MarkI. It attacked him while he was gutting an Elk, said while it had him by the shoulder he put the barrel in it's ear and pulled the trigger till it was empty. Course he also lost an eye and about 20 pounds of flesh and blood, but he said the worst part was that the darn thing fell on him and it took over 2 hours to get out from under it.
Just remember what my dad always says when someone asks about the best place to see bears.
"bears, are where they find you"

FELLOW DREAMERS, I am an average single ,which helps mechanic.I save my money 1-3 years and try to go on some of my dream hunts.
I have been to Africa and taken Kudu and more. Taken Brown Bear in Alaska. Boone and Crocket Goat in Canada. If you want it and your desire is grate you will find the time and money to do what you dream about.
Dallan I got a call the other day , from Africa this year will be the year for Kudu in the place where I went. they say there will be some high 50's to 60" kudu killed next year . This is a shame I don't have the money. We all need that Tree that we can pick the money from to fill out our dreams.
My Dream is Sheep , but sometimes Dreams come true I pray every night
to win the lotto.

This fellas name was Lloyd "Buck" Bader. He ran the bar at a little fart of a town named Ucross, Wyoming. That was about all there was to Ucross, even than. Now there isn't anything there but the old school house.
Buck did exactly like blaserman. He saved his money and every 3 to 5 years went on a hunt. He had pictures and mounts of hunts from Africa to South America. He was what we in these parts call "a character". He even had his own headstone carved while he was still alive.

There are damn few old mountain men like him left, even here in Wyoming.

Blaserman, you dream of sheep? I should be careful there mate, that's too much information!! Definition of a leasure centre in Wales...... a sheep tied to a lamp post Where did you go for your Kudu? I have seen quite a few of them but haven't had anything heavy enough to do a number on them at the time. I know S.A. quite well and am off there again in just under a fortnight, we have been going out there for the past ten years now and I even speak Afrikaans (poorly!).
