I have a Stevens Model 311 side x side 16 ga. and I contacted Savage/Stevens as to getting a owner manuel. Sense this is no longer made they didnt have any manuels. Does anyone have one I can pick up? Also how or can I date about how old this shotgun may be. It still has almost 99% blueing with its ORG. wood stock. I also posted some Remington 870 Express items for sale if anyone is interested. Thanks

Was never able to get a date on my 311 but here is some info that I did find. The model 311A was made from late 40's to early 50's. Up till 1969 they did not have any serial numbers on them, as they were not required. The last model 311H was discontinued in 1989. Hope that helps alittle. tr

Can't find an owner's manual for it Thames, but did find a schematic for it on stevespages.com maybe that will help a little, Terry.

I would think this 311 is from the 80's maybe 70's with about 99.9% of it blueing and orig. wood. What is the value of a 311 these days?? My father passed away and I got his guns and this was one of them. I plan on keeping it (though I may never shoot it) as I dont bird hunt. About the only hunting I do is Whitetail from time to time. But my father, that was another story. He hunted everything with everything Bow, Blackpowder, etc. etc. so I have a few guns I just wont use. Thanks again for any help.

I looked at 2- 311's this year. The 311A was going for $325 and the 311H which is the newest one circa the 1980's, was going for $375. If yours is one of the newer ones, I would imagine it would be around that $375 dollar mark. They are a nice workhorse of a SxS-tr

This is from a C&R site:
Stevens' "usually" have a date code behind the hinge pin or ahead of the triggerguard on the bottom of the frame that is represented by a small circle containing a number and letter - A=1949 up to V=1968. "

If you've got a circle with a letter "H" or earlier, it's C&R. No serial number or stamp, it's a C&R, likely pre 1949.
