Good question mate. As 'Mitri says:
What Mauser action type are they ??
This is probably getting out of my area of expertise, however I can't see a problem with the Mauser action handling the pressures of these two cartridges...with the following proviso: Have them checked thoroughly by a competent gunsmith. Even though these old actions were designed for fairly high pressures, unless you know the history of EVERY cartridge fired in the rifles you could well be letting yourself in for a world of hurt. Apart from that, if the rifles have any sentimental value then you wouldn't like to blow them up...or yourself for that matter.
There are a number of guys on here who have gunsmithing experience and are far more qualified to answer this question than me, so if you can provide as much info as you can about the rifles then I'm sure that one of these guys can give you a more definitive answer.
Lets see how it goes mate.
Cheers, Vince
