What is your favorite 22 rifle? Make, model, action type.
Im partial to a Marlin Model 39 Mounty lever action my Father gave me, I also have his old Marlin Model 60 he used for coon hunting forever. Very Happy
I have others but those are my favorite.

My favorite is a Remington Model 24. It's a semiautomatic, with a tube magazine. It is the oldest rifle I have, and it is probably the one I have used the most. I learned to shoot with it, and it was my first real gun. I don't count bb guns or pellet guns. Numerous chipmunks (sp) and squirrels have fallen to it.

My favourite .22 rifle is my Krico that I bought in 1969. Magazine fed, bolt action, it has accounted for more rabbits, rats, small critters, birds, and the odd kangaroo, than I care to remember.

My next "go to" .22 is a Browning/FN/Pffiefer single shot that can take a gnat off a bull's butt at 75m. Love it, and its very light to carry.

Cheers, Vince

Marlin Golden 39A
Browning T Bolt

Both have been superbly accurate and served well over the years without repairs, muss or fuss.

I have a small collection (about two dozen) of the 500 series Remingtons, 510, 511, 512 and 513. I think they are amongst the top five 22 sporting rifles ever made. Remington tried to mess up the reputation by coming out with the X series, but the folks who love quality 22 rifles still look for good 500s with ferver.

I still have my original 512 that I received for Christmas when I was a lad of 9 years.

Marlin Mod 81 bolt action. Old enough that it does not have a serial number. Adult stock and 24" barrel. Tubular magazine and real rifling. No microgroove...

Sorry about the mess. I've been reloading...

Coeey Model 60! Very old, bought it used for 50 bucks and i brought it back to live with lots of gun oil and loving care! Very Happy

mounted and sighted in a Simmons 3-9x40mm at 50 yards on it that i took off my Savage 111 .300mag because it couldnt take the recoil.

i only used 50 rounds to sight it in and i already got 3 shot groups at 1" at 50 yards(roughly)
very accurate with iron sights too!
love it

I just absolutely without a doubt, love this rifle. I'm a lefty so the bottom ejection is awsome for either type of shooter. Very accurate, few jams when kept moderately clean. I cant wait to get my boy one in a few years.

You should buy it now and set it aside unfired and preserved...

Is yours a Browning or chinese Norinco? I had a Norinco that was very very nice, I gave it to my Grandfather because he fell in love with it.

Mine is a 100% original Browning. About 9 years ago I found an insanely dirty Norinco copy in a pawn shop for $70. I'm totally convinced someone bought it, shot it till it jammed about every shot then sold it as a piece of junk. I bought it, took it home and cleaned it up... was amazed how identical the internal parts were with my browning. We took it up shooting and it works flawlessly! Its now my wifes gun. Keep'em moderately clean and they shoot great.

The overall design is just terrific but yes, I plan to get a browning for my boy.
