Rifle, I traded for a Savage 110 Tactical. modified it a little and went out to sight it in today. Man that thing will shoot. I set it up for 200 yard sight in as I plan on using it for 600 and 1000 yards shoots. It's a 308.
To my sruprise once I got it sighted in and it was a long day I started at 25 yards with the new scope. I shot a 8 shot group using Federal premium 175 sierra match kings and three of the shots went almost in the same hole. That thing is shooting sup .25 at 200.
I can't wait to get out there and sight it in on the 600 yard range.
You guys got any suggestion for loads for the 600 and 1000 yard shoots?

Wow that is amazing accuracy out of that rifle. Best I've ever pulled off in a rifle is .24" @ 100 yards. What scope are you using?

Skip,
Welcome.
If you are not wanting to stay with the 175s I would try the Hornady 168 HPBTM and 42 grains of H-4198. In my AR-10T I got .5 inches at 200M in a 20K cross wind. The 168 was running 2,517 FPS. They shot 3-4 inches at 500, just checking out a Springfield Armory set reticle scope, on the gun.
Berger makes the 175s and I would think that H-4198 or H-414 would work well with the 175. However, they are not cheap. Some of the long shooters probably know exactly what will duplicate the Fed Premium 175 load. The 168 load above duplicates the Fed Prem 168gr load which runs about 2,525.

Pick a high B.C bullet and see how it shoots.

Those Savages are amazing rifles. My experience is that when you adjust the headspace with a 'go' gage plus a little to get a slight "crush" when closing the bolt, the accuracy is much better than average.
I am in the process of building one in 300WM with a varmint contour. As an experiment, I am trying to build it sub-moa and keep the entire kit under $1K. When I finish, I will publish the results.
