Fortunately, there are many in public office that support the rights of gunowners and work very hard on their behalf. Now, get this, some of them are liberals!
Our Arizona Democrat Governor, Janet Napolitano, has signed off on several pieces of state legislation that has aided Arizona gun owners. Phoenix City Councilman Dave Siebert has worked tirelessly to protect shooting ranges and confront developers that want the land for their own gain. Dave is also a Democrat. Several lesbian and gay organizations have also endorsed gun rights.
While my political leanings are to the right of Michael Savage, I find it interesting and encouraging that there are many supporters of gun rights and I appreciate their support without prejudice. In many ways, I am a single issue voter and believe the entire weight of the Constitution is born by the 2nd Ammendment.
On another issue, those that own and ride horses have probably never owned a good mule.

Oh yes I have...A 17 hands Missouri Red Mule. If I had someplace to send it to I'd send you a photo of him. He is saddle broke and was used to work cattle...A regulation "gentle giant"...

Mules got a bad rap, We had one when I was a kid that was smarter than any horse we owned. And he was alot of fun to ride to. He died when my uncles barn was hit by a tornado in 1974 .

I might start collecting guys, mainly Enfields though.
I see 5-6 Enfields to be purchased in the next few years of as many flavors as I can get my hands on.

Collectibles need not be expensive. A good example are some of the fine rimfires of yesteryear or the K31 Swiss. K31s are often available in the $100 to $200 range in superb condition, brass and dies are easy to find and the rifle is a delight to shoot and highly accurate.
But "collection" to me suggests some planned act of acquisition and acquiring specimens that have differentiation within the series. That may mean collecting Model 721s, for example, or for collecting bolt actions of the 50s. Either way defines the type of collection and the rifles that qualify as collectors.

You are very correct on that one Handloader.
A "collection" is a bunch of guns of one type, such as the guns that Dimitri wants to get. A bunch of Enfields would sure look nice.
I on the other hand, have a bunch of really neat shooters.
I DO "collect" anything that I like that goes BANG though.

Well I got to admit the Enfields would be shot regularly even if they are rare or execellent samples. So they are shooters too.
