Hello Gang.
I just came home with my New Taurus 1911 .45 ACP
I have been looking for a new 1911, and decided to go to my local gun shop, The Wolf's Den.
They had just put a Taurus 1911 into the display cabinets, so after picking it up and checking it out, I bought it.
The owner of the Wolf's Den told me that he has sold 30 of them so far, and everybody likes them.
People that buy and hang out at the Wolf's Den are top notch shooters, reloaders and gun people. They are not your typical Gander Mountain types, so I figure that it has to be a good gun.
I will let you fine gentlemen know how it shoots when it warms up a little, and I make it to the club.
Eric

ElyBoy: congratulations on your new Taurus. It is well made and has beaucoupe features that make it one of the best dollar values in 1911s. It has no preference for ammo and shoots everything accurately without jams according to those that have them.
Today's Taurus lineup offers exceptional quality at affordable prices, all with a lifetime warranty. I've been shooting a Raging Bull in 454 for a year and am impressed with the lockup and accuracy.
We look forward to your report on the PT1911.

I can't wait till they release the new 24/7 OSS. I want one of those in a .45. They've got a lot of new features on them compared to the old 24/7.

I have been loading up Winchester 230gr fmj for my other 1911, and just received today my order from Midway of 185gr Rainier flat point lead safe bullets.
Burgy here on HuntingNut and I were shooting his last week, and those bullets really killed the 10 ring.
I think that I will load up some of these for the range, along with the 230 fmj bullets.

The 45 is a good one! I have a 45 Long Colt and will not part with it, and am thinking I should have two so I have a back up. Only carry one at a time in my cowboy rig.

Eric!
What an absolutely brilliant purchase. Taurus makes a fine quality weapon at a reasonable price, you should be commended! (that was for your wife, but it's true )

And I didn't post it twice because I thought I was that smart or because I'm getting a trigger finger like Vince, I got an error message so I sent it a second time to be sure it went.

Hello gang and thanks for the help.
I will have the War Dept. read it when she gets home.
I just got back from the Range.
It was snowing with a 20mph wind, but we shoot from inside of a blockhouse to the outside.
I shot a box of Winchester 230gr fmj, and a box of those 185gr Rainier jacketed bullets.
I shot with the two handed stance at 20yds only, and when I wasn't shooting fliers---due to the cold and wind --- the groups were around 2".
I can see this baby shooting 1"+ groups at 25yds with better weather, and when it gets broken in better.
No jams or malfunctions of any type, and the empty brass ejected past my right shoulder 5-10'.
Boy, this pistol has all of the feel of a high end weapon. The trigger pull was smooth with no slop, almost like a custom trigger job.
I am really--really happy with this PT 1911.
When I find the cord that my Wife lost for the digital camera, I will have my buddy come over and show me how to post picks, so I can show you guys.

Took the PT 1911 to the range today with Bergy.
Dang gun shoots lights out with any type of reload.
Great piece of workmanship.
I did however, order from Midway tonight, some Chip McMormick Checkered Rosewood grips though.
Too nice of a gun for those cheap plastic grips.
Had to do it.
