We ordered and received a Savage so chambered where I work. It was the first I had given the cartridge any attention. Oh my! I don't know if there is really a practical application, but, it is sorely tempting to get one and zip those 20 cal bullets at 4,700 fps just to see what they would do on . . . . I don't know --- grapes, watermelon, prairie dogs.

anyone got the bug for one?

Developed by M.L. McPherson and By Smalley at Superior Ballistics if I understand correctly. It is capable of pushing a 30gr bullet at 4,850 FPS.

Savage has come a long ways from the .250-3000. I am going ot have to look this one up. I can see true challenge on 5K fps in the coming times.

You guys might want to read this data:

www.superiorballistics.com/

Look close at the 20x35 Varmit stuff. They claim superior accuracy at 500 yards.

Barnes may be releasing 20 cal TSX bullets. If so, things in the 20cal arena will change and those rifles so chambered may be superb coyote rounds.
