Howdy. I have the Z style it's a simmons and performs very well. Mine is 40 power I use it mostly at the range. I believe the Z style is more compact than the telescope style so it should take up less room in a day pack Witch leaves room for other goodies Very Happy

My spotting scope is a 20x50mm Alpen.....it was a gift so I didn't actually select it. No idea who manufactures it or who they are, no doubt made in China, but it is clear and good enough to pick up .22 size holes in targets at 200m which is basically what I use it for. I have even used it for a little moon gazing and it is good enough to pick up craters and some shadows on the moon.

I intend to take it with me when next I go hunting to try it in field conditions, but I don't anticipate that it will let me down.

It is small...only 190mm in length, making it easy to carry around. It suits my needs.

Cheers, Vince

The Z is shorter, easier to carry
