The IX and YF's were used to test 10% of the new torpedos going to the fleet and 10% of those returning from the fleet. We also tested new torpedo designs at Dabob Bay in Hood canal, Wa. and The Georgia Straits off Nanimo, Nanoose Bay, Vancouver Island, BC.

Ah I see, setistical quality control to make sure the torpedos are in working order.

Was it fun Bushmaster ?? Smile

By the way the US Navy Machinery Repairmen book is quite interesting, has types of measurements I never knew existed like paper measure and shipping measure. Smile

GroovyJack,

The USS England was Decommsioned in 1994 and later sold to International Shipbreaking Corp., Brownsville, Tx., for scrapping.

P-3C's, I was above all that bird farm stuff. I was an electronics tech[ wheels up, heels up, call me when you break someting]. Hardest part was quitting drinking 12 hrs prior to flying. Kyle
