Here's an interesting story I heard last night on the news. The incidences of cougars attacking people has escalated sharply in California since they outlawed hunting the big cats in that state some years ago.

Sorry to hear people have been attacked. But maybe now California will realize that banning hunting isn't the brightest thing to do.

Most of the people gettin' attacked in california by The Cougar are the same folks that voted against hunting these majestic cats. I'm rootin' for the Puma. Go get'em Golden Tiger...
City liberals from places like Los Angeles, SanFrancisco, Sacromento and Bakersfield who have no idea of the life style and habitat of the American Mountain Lion decided that the big cats were endangered when they could only count 5,000 from a helocopter flying over the state of california. Now they are crowded and have found that urban joggers, bike riders, backyard pets and park hikers are rather tasty...
In california the cats are no longer afraid of humans and see us as food. We have just dropped one knotch down the food chain.

We have the same thing happening here in some of our National Parks with Cougars and a few other predators.

Heard earlier this evening that the guy the cougar attacked was not doing very good now at all. Some kind of complication I guess. But I only heard it as one of those "coming up later" announcements, then I missed it on the news. Anyone hear about his condition? He needs prayers.

His condition has been "downgraded". Not the direction one wants to go on the road to recovery. He will need everyones prayers to get through this. His wife could use a little uplifting as well.

You might also offer a prayer for stupidity affecting the people in control in California. The lawmakers and tree hugging bunch don't think there's a problem. Duh. These cats are protected and not hunted. They are prolific and obviously adaptable to changing environment. Therefore they are not afraid of man. They are at the top of the food chain, and adults, children and pets are nothing but a super-sized Happy Meal to them.
They need to be hunted by sportsman who would pay their way through licenses and/or permit fees. Not by pissing away taxpayer dollars by hiring others to do the job at great and unnecessary expense. Just my two cents worth.

Musical notes, musical notes floating in the air in melodious sound...Yotebuster...Yer preaching to the choir again...And I hear ya...I was there when they, in their infament wisdom, decided to protect the Big Golden Cats and not themselves. Feel sorry for that guy? No......He and his wife, more then likely, voted for it or let others get away with it. I fought tooth and nail, but to no avail...I did, I think, convince my neighbors to vote against the proposal, for what good that did. california does not think with reason or consious thought and hasn't for many years. They protect a prehistoric bird, the condor, that feeds on LARGE dead animals. There isn't any or enough dead animals to sustain them...Sooo the "goody-two-shows" kill beef stock to feed them. And the tax payer pays for this... WHAT??? Make sense to you?

Yotebuster, I can't start praying for stupid people, there's too many other things I gotta get done with my day. That'd be a full time project.
