ok so I can get myself a really cheap Russan nagant model 91 and dies and what not to reload. My problem is Brass. I could order it from Norma but it would cost me $50/50 rnds. does anyone know of a source of this brass with out the messed up primers for less than that?

Matt

I believe that Winchester sells loaded rounds ...if that is the case you may get component brass too.

Winchester used to sell primed brass for this cartridge, but I think they was discontinued a few years back.

When my Winchester wears out, I am going to try Grafs ($35.99 / 100). http://www.grafs.com/metallic/product/71632

Winchester doesn't sell reloading components. They sell powder to the reloaders who like to have it dropped and replaced with a new kind - or just drop it like 680.

Gidday Paul. Winchester Australia (Olin) are still manufacturing and marketing cases and projectiles here in Australia. I know cause I buy them for my 30.30 levergun.

My local gun shops sell Winchester primers, powder, cases and lead shot. So I believe Winchester does sell reloading components. All the best...

You are right, they do sell some components but not everything they use - like bullets. They don't even market bullets or a reloading book. They have the little free pamphlet that you can get if you use their powders but I quit using their powders shortly after they dumped 230 and replaced it with 231. Then they dropped 680 and 785. I figured I could get a better selection from Hodgdon and be able to keep the same powder for more than a few years.

Kauko,
Welcome to the board. I bet your English is not near as bas as my Finnish.

Body,
Take a look at MidSouth Shooters Supply. They Have 7.62x53 Lapua (from Finland) for 67.00 per 100 rounds. Of course, you might talk Kauko into sending you some boxer primed once fired...

Sorry, but there is winter now in Finlad, means plenty snow. We must keep waiting some months. I have at home no 7,62x54R cases , because I have only .222, .223, 22-250, .308, 30-06 and 9,3x57 cal. rifles.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I saw cases of 1000 rounds at a gun show about 3 weeks ago for $80. They also had the rifles for sale for $100. I almost bought one with a couple a thousand rounds, but thought better of it. It sucks being on a budget Sad

Hey Cody,
Most likely that ammo you saw had FMJ bullets, was made with lacqured steel cases, had a berdan primer and was Russian or Chinese. OK for a war but not much for a reloader or sport shooting. That cartridge case starts to rust between the rifle and the ground. Very Happy
