Dryer Sheets in Tumbler

I'm at a loss as to where I read this little tip. Tried it though and still don't know for sure if it works. The Used dryer sheets are supposed to collect the dirt in the tumbler media. They sure do come out black and gritty.
Any thoughts, comments, etc?

Yup, strips of paper towel do the same thing.

The strips stop static electricity in the tumbler that is more noticable in the colder months and it will pick up residue. I still prefer the wet paper towel strips to remove most of the dirt.

Try using one to wipe the inside of your powder dispenser if you get static build up in it.

Ive never heard this tip before, I have heard of wiping out powder measure reservoirs with them , that works well.

This has nothing to do with dryer sheets, but if your plastic powder funnel develops static electricity, dunk it in a sink full dishwashing water and then set it aside to dry, don't rinse it off. Don't know how or why it works but it does. This is best done before you have washed the dishes or set the pots and pans in to soak :).

The dishwater leaves a film of soap on the funnel - it is basically the same thing as wiping it with a dryer sheet. The dryer sheets put a film of dry oil to eliminate static and the perfume is for making smell nice. Here's a hit for you bachelors - re-use those dryer sheets by putting half water and half liquid dish soap in a spray bottle and give the old sheet a squirt on each side and let it dry. Recycled dryer sheets that work.

Dryer sheets...thanks for the tip guys. They also work great in stinky shoes to get rid of the odor. Don't think I would use them on my hunting boots though.

I've used the dryer strips to remove static electricity in my powder dispenser where it also works very well. Best wishes.

If you have a single case trimmer but have a number of different cases that you trim, use a bushing to change between cases and just make the initial adjustment for the shortest case. Slide your 3006 bushing on the shaft and you are all set to trim 3006. Remove that one and slide on the 308 bushing and you are set to trim your 308 cases.

I have two trimmers but I do use home made bushings to regulate the length of the trim.

OK I'll throw in one more. Put an unused dryer sheet in your hat or shirt pocket. Keeps bees and Gnats away from your face.

I've been trying to work out what Dryer Sheets actually are. Don't think we have these in Australia...although it is the wife's area of expertise. However, I am familiar with the term paper towel strips. How wet should these strips be? Could you use them to clean the media without putting any brass in?

My mate uses a mix of corn cob and walnut shell media and he just washes it in water. The media swells up a bit but when put in the sun to dry it settles "down" and is right to go again.

Have to give one of these tips a go....might save a bit of work cleaning the brass later. Damn I'm getting lazy. Shocked
