Haven't seen much lately of anyone hunting any critters. I know I haven't. Weather for the last 3 weeks has been very cold, wet, and windy here. How's everyone else doing? Any good tales to relate? Hope to hear some. Have a good safe shoot. Very Happy Very Happy

Insanely windy and record breaking rain... in fact our house flooded again... and i live in the desert! I havent done squat besides the one trial run of taking the 17HMR out for a test. I plan to get out tomorrow and do some plinking of ground squirrels that frequent a little mountain lake I like to fish (90% of the time I'm the only one there so cast in the line and plink away until I get a bite)

We're asbout a month behind you guys weather wise. Early in the season it's mostly woodchuck hunting and range work. I'm going out again (second trip) tomorrow. A chilly, windy day is just as bad at the range as in the field though. The range is 130 miles away, and I dread hauling a half dozen small caliber varmint rifles all that way and finding a stiff wind; may as well have stayed home since the results are less than thrilling. Best wishes.

Guy's
I have been hunting the "Wily Whistle Pig", same problem as everybody else. Rain, cold, windy, grass is high enough that you cannot see them, not high enough to mow. We have been hunting the old cornfields, soybean fields. Wearing fleece hooded sweetshirts, jackets, what ever we have to wear. We/I have been out 7 times, once in did not shower/rain, the other 6 times it has. That day I ended up with 8 pigs, it was in the low 80's and they were out. The rest of the times it has been slow, good news, got permission to hunt another farm yesterday, appox. 160 acres Very Happy

BSSS,
Nice to see that you made it out and got a few of those hogs. Sounds like alot of the folks are having weather problems and haven't had much of an oppurtunity yet. We had a string of storms come thru Friday night into Saturday. It was wicked. Sunday afternoon it got beautiful. Blue skies, 70 degrees, no bugs, and no wind. Was able to get out to a dog field and get in some good shooting. Hope everyone else can get out soon. Smile Smile
