DR Power Grader

Any one ever used a DR Power Grader before? I have a long driveway and it's a b*#@ to keep it up. Been thinking about trying one of these things out, Their not cheap but if they work it might be worth it to me.

Try this first- Get an angle iron, as big as you can and as much as can pull. Chain from the corners to the hitch, so you can adjust the angle of the drag. Then drag the driveway. Cheap and it works.

I use an I beam 12" x 11'. Tractor pulls it and it grades great. Very Happy

Tried that, and I have a tractor with a back blade and it won't cut into the stone Crete, I've used drags, then bed springs, nothing seems to loosen it up enough to do any good, I thought if this thing would cut in deep enough it might work. I could use it for six months free, and send it back, they say they will cover shipping both ways. But you know how that goes.

It sounds like hardpan to me. I've seen it so tough that a back hoe couldn't go through it. In one case the city had to call in a demolition expert. He put in a charge every 6 inches over an area of about a half acre. When he set it off you didn't hear a thing you just felt this "bump" and there was 18 inches of silt over the entire surface. They used a rock drill to put the charges down. just a bunch of 1 inch holes - I hope you don't have that kind of hard pan.
Try the DR Power Grader and when it doesn't work give the company a call and maybe they will break it up for you and film it for a commercial.

I like that reply..As if that will ever happen, No I think I'll just have to live with it, better hard than soft. Embarassed

Well if you just want to level off the bumps you can use a mixture of warm water, powdered laundry detergent (about 1/4 cup per gallon) in a watering can. just wet down the high spots and wait until it starts to dry - then drag your "I" beam across to shave the high spots down. If it dries out too fast use the hose to keep it wet on "spray" from your nozzle.
