15 months ago, I weighed in at 282lbs, my BP was around 135/85, my sleep apnoea & snoring were terrible & I was getting through at least four pints (proper 20oz ones...) of 5%+ beer every night.
Having met up with a good friend in the US in late 2017 & been amazed at his change in physique from rotund to regular, I took the decision to sort myself out, though not with the intent of doing so as dramatically as he has.
Back in January 2018, I could manage about a half mile walk in 10 minutes before needing to stop for a minute, so I built on that, cut down seriously on the potatoes, pasta, bread & rice & did my best to reduce the beer consumption.
By November last year, I was down to 245lb, could walk 3 miles in 45 minutes without a break & my BP was down to 125/70. I'd also found that a dash of grapefruit juice in a pint of diet tonic water is a good substitute for IPA.
Unfortunately, winter weather set in & I slacked somewhat in my endeavours & was still 245lb in mid February, though like many, I put on a couple of lbs over Christmas, so at least they'd gone.
Since mid February, I've been a lot more active (doing up a property I inherited) & believe me, even a moderate amount of activity makes a world of difference when it's extended over 5 days a week.
I've also seen my beer consumption fall to less than a quarter of what it was & my wine intake down to a bottle once a week.
I'm down to 236lb (only another 46lb to go...), my BP is now 118/68 & my mental outlook is way more positive than at this time last year.
I can say without reserve that moderate physical activity & moderating alcohol intake are probably THE best things anyone can do to improve their health, mental attitude & longevity.
Roll on hitting 190lbs some time this year...

Good job on the weight loss.
I also been trying to come down from 107 kg 2 years ago, now I am yoyoing at 100 kg. 10 more down would be great.
I am considering to have stomach stapling surgery later on this year, more for my type 2 diabetes than fitness (ok that too).
Frankly I have been tired of carrying this long range fuel tank with me.
