The only way to rid society of gun violence is to remove the violence.
England has more violent crime than America. so, leave the guns in the hands of the non-violent (those that obey the laws against harming and killing people) and remove the violent.

It is totally absurd to think that taking away a tool will stop violence. In England they are talking about banning kitchen knives to prevent the violence. They continue, after 200 years, to attempt to remove the tools without dealing with the root; violence.

Let's talk about banning violence and leave the tools out of the discussion. There will always be another tool to use until we are all quadruple amputees sucking our food through tubes. Even then the violent will spit on the non-violent.

yip PAUL that might be true but has stuff all to do with these muppets trying to tear down munuments to fallen service folk because they are in shape of a cross..... we have seen similar thing where folk/dipsticks want the rifles removed from monuments incase "they offend" others.

I have to say this "kitchen knife ban" thing comes up fairly frequently on slow news days outside the UK.
It was proposed by someone writing to The Lancet (doctor's journal) several years ago that they should have rounded ends. Needless to say, it was soon pointed(sic) out how utterly impractical that was.
It gets dragged out every time some drug dealing little scrote gets carved up by his rivals.
As for removing the violence: Rather than lock up more criminals in the UK, they're now considering locking up fewer, with prison sentences of less than a year being abolished.
Just great; we already have it where antisocial scum rack up dozens of convictions before they get their first taste of jail & now they're going to be allowed even more time to cause mayhem before being banged up.
Me, I'd happily pay more in tax to make & maintain another 100,000 prison places & keep these sociopathic parasites locked away for far longer.

Build prison ships and moor them out in the rough sea areas where criminals will no longer be able to continue their crime lives whilst locked up.

Drug dealers...death penalty; immediately, on the spot...that way they won’t thumb their nose at society and keep on dealing. Drug addicts...one, and ONLY ONE, chance to get clean. If they go back to drugs...banish them from the country to either an island somewhere, or to a drug colony aboard a ship moored out to sea and let them form their own society...for as long as they live.

Immigrants and their offspring/families who choose not to follow the laws of their adopted country...one chance, then deportation to the country of their birth or their parents/ancestors birth with no second chance.

Capital criminals...murder etc...death penalty, no appeals, no arguments, and no soft options like lethal injection...hanging or firing squad.

All other minor criminals...put them to work on chain gangs, literally chained together, dressed in distinctive clothing and working for the Government doing things like cleanup jobs etc on the side of roads...without any sort of recompense.

Do I sound hard nosed and anti criminal...hell yeah.

Agree with most every thing thats been said , We also need to start taking out some of these liberal judges who give out these slap on the wrist sentences .
