R Lee Ermey passed away today. He was one of my favorite actors, a former Marine, and NRA Board member.

If you’ve never seen Full Metal Jacket, you owe it to yourself to watch it once. His was the one of only roles that Kubrick ever let anyone improvise.

HJ...I've seen a number of posts on Facebook saying this is another one of those "Celebrity has passed away" hoaxes.

He died....age 74..complications of pneumonia bummer, I loved that guy, have copies of his Mail Call shows. RIP Gunny! He'll be missed..

I don't know mate...I saw a number of RIP messages on Facebook and then this HOAX message popped up. Maybe I'll do a little research.

Oh well...seems it is a fact...a shame, he was one of the "good guys".

I suppose that off camera he was a gentle man with a huge heart. He will be missed.

He truly was. I had the chance to meet him and speak with him at the National Rifle Matches at Camp Perry s few years ago.

I loved watching Mail Call on this history channel. He seemed like a good guy, his mail call bloopers are pretty hilarious, he could easily laugh at himself.
