One time on Midway Island my Destroyer Escort was having a ships party on the beach. These were the days when ships could carry their own beer on board for just such occasions. Late in the afternoon we were told that a storm was on the way and we were to get underway and try to outrun it.

We got underway. I don't believe there was a sober Sailor on board including the Captain.

Yup...I agree.
