I spend two or more half-days a week working at the local gun club that has 5,000 members and 200 acres of land. Most of the time I merely check membership cards and guest passes. Then I walk the ranges to make sure folks are following our range rules and safety requirements. Over the last three years, I have gotten to know a whole bunch of people who are regulars at the ranges. Some merely come to chat with me. That cuts into my reading time. Others work at sighing in their rifles, muzzleloaders and shotguns. I help when asked and get to shoot as much as I want and enjoy it. Ninety-nine percent of the folks are really good people.

Today a fellow showed up and gave me a box of Hornady .308" 150 grain bullets that he found in his garage. The price on the box was $5.50 which means it is at least twenty years old. Other shooters box up their factory brass and give it to me. I am awash in brass of various calibers.

The time at the range gives me something to do and has a number of benefits. All the best...
Gil

Gil, it is great to see your members show their appreciation for your contributions to the club.

Generosity is one trait I've noticed at the range i shoot at when in the US.
There's nothing like it here in the UK.
Thankfully I'll be on a flight back over the Pond in three weeks & will once again be mixing with some really great people.

Did I say "back"?

I guess I did, which kinda shows which side of it I'd rather be.

As a slim said Gil, it's good to see you are not only appreciated but respected as well. I'd love to have a hobby like yours mate...it is too enjoyable to call it a job...I couldn't think of a better way of passing the time and getting some recoil therapy in as well.
