Hey guys. Looks like its been awhile since I've been around. Since moving back to North Idaho, life has been really busy getting our shack and property in the woods liveable. Have got some hunting and photography in though and life is pretty good at the moment. Best of all, its fall here, and hunting season has begun. -- terry

and your always great photos are where?
Yes you have been missed. Elvis' camera skills are no substitute and the pictures from stovey, well, go without words ...

Thanks SJ. I will post some pics in a photo album. As for Stovey, well, not the easiest guy to compete with. Love his stuff. Hope you are doing well.

I'm still alive and have been busy as hell doing house repairs.
Seems that the previous owner was too ?????? to ask a question before he built something. Lipstick on a pig!
Well it has taken a year since we moved in for me to find all of the warts and exercise them.
My current wart, is repairing the rim joist along side the deck (which I might add was WELL built professionally) save for the fact that they didn't place any flashing to direct water away from the house and it rotted out.
I would not have found this delight except for the fact that every time we turned the outdoor water hydrant on that we could hear the sound of water running from inside the siding. It turned out that the frost free hydrant had rotted out on the downside of the valve. It also rotted out the rim joist and the floor joists for about 6 feet. In total I have repaired 38 feet (12m) of joists.
I did of course have help from my boy who living his terrible twos for all its worth. There is nothing so memorable in a fathers' life than to be the recipient of a three pound mallet on the family jewels delivered by a loving son while said father is in a cramped crawl-space beneath a house in the dirt. There was a great deal of laughter:haha:emanating from Colt as daddy screamed like a twelve year old girl at a Justin Bieber concert hitting his head multiple times on the bottom of the floor joists.
Mom of course had to chime in after this memorable event to chastise dad for having the boy under the house with all of the sharp pointy things in the dirt.
Thank God for Tootsie. She was the only understanding creature to offer comfort in the way of washing my face with dog kisses.
And that my friends is how my summer pretty much went. Thank the lord for hunting season. Thus ends my rant.

HOOLLLEEEEEE CHHIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTT
A MASSIVE storm rolled through last night. 105 MPH winds recorded!
We had THREE Tornadoes! 3!!! Utah just doesn't get them, too high of elevation, mountains block the wind etc etc. Still... THREE hit yesterday. The biggest hit north of me by 60 miles, flattened some homes. No loss of life thank goodness.
Crazy stuff for sure.

Wait, Dallan, the count is 3? I knew of the one in Washington Terrance (destroyed 12 homes, 1 injured). Where were the other two?

I guess it's actually 21 homes damaged, but 12 homes are "uninhabitable". Some are without roofs or have even shifted off their foundations.
Nothing like what happens in the Midwest though...

WOW Ron...did you teach your young fella some new words mate ...I reckon I would have for sure. A three pound mallet to the plums is not exactly something I want to experience mate, in fact I am cringing just thinking about it.
Gee Dallan, a single tornado sounds bloody scary mate...but THREE I can't even comprehend that. I hope you guys escaped any damage...likewise your family and friends. We don't get tornadoes per se like you guys in the US do, although I have seen quite a few of what we call a willy willy or in extreme cases a Dust Devil...a strong, well-formed, and relatively long-lived whirlwind, ranging from small (half a meter wide and a few meters tall) to large (more than 10 meters wide and more than 1000 meters tall). They can do a little damage, but nothing like a tornado.

Another tornado formed up about 5 miles south of my house yesterday. People had it on video, luckily it didn't touch down. Crazy weather for my neck of the woods.

Another year, guys RUOK?
Plenty happened in the past year to Gelandangan
First of all, I sold my business end of last year, thus no more 9to5 job. You would think that I now have lots of time to hunt, but truthfully, I'm now much busier making stamps.
Also after a few decades of being together, this year is the first time my wife and I can go on holidays together for more than a few days. In fact we been overseas thrice since December. It is awesome.
Other than that, besides getting a couple of "new" guns, nothing much happening here.
How are things with you?
