Farting elk

When I started my ML Bull Elk hunt, I pulled a memory card out of my trail camera the evening before. Sadly I think static or something from my pocket fried it as it was unreadable.

I've kept the card, occasionally googling up different techniques to try and get it readable as I knew it had several weeks of elk videos on it. Well for whatever reason, I was messing with it last night, flipping the read/write switch off and on, retesting, scraping the connection circuits... and wala, the PC recognized it. I immediately copied off 360 10 second video clips! Not one was corrupt!

I was hopeful I had video of the bull I killed but I didnt (I recently heard from a neighboring property owner who has video of my bull, I hope to get that from him soon). But, I had some great videos of lots of smaller bulls doing all kinds of hilarious things.

On of which, a small bull laying in the wallow / pond... relaxing and alone, when suddenly his body contracts a little and you hear on the microphone... a loud fart. It was so hilarious.

I will reencode the better videos to reduce size and stick them on the website somewhere. Still... the idea of a farting elk is pretty darn funny. Guess the males of all species are more similar than one would expect. Very Happy

Did it sound like a muffled bugle out the wrong end? It will be interesting to see.
