I'm running 2 old style priming tools and have broken a lever and had the lever given to me.

my first is circa 1980 and the other is 1984.

Repete,
That's about the same time frame I got my two lee hand primers, maybe a few years before. I lubed the moving parts and then cleaned them as I used them over the years applying new lube after cleaning them. The one I used for pistols is the one I had to replace but when you consider that I loaded over 30000 (30 thousand) 357 rounds in a three year period of competition it served me well.
I am hoping that the RCBS unit I replaced it with will last through even more rounds.

I started my reloading with a single stage Lyman (which I still use for rifle rounds!). I also used that device on the press to prime the case, but I found it very difficult to do this in a sensitive way, as the moment you press the primer in the pocket, the innersizer is also touching the neck of the case.
Several years ago I bought 2 used Lee handprimers including some spare parts that came from already broken devices with the first owner. Now 1 device is set to do "S", small primers and the other for "L", large primers. Works very well almost allways, only giving problems when the Lee shellholders act strange on European cases as the rim is not always made the same shape as in American cases.
But I never use that primer-setting-device anymore on my Lyman (which I also had to replace once because it was broken!). Here it's or straight on the Dillon 550B for handgunammo or the Lee handprimers with round trays. (and to be complete: shotshell primers go on the Lee Load All - when I'm not reloading .410 in a 9,3x74R shell)

I have the RCBS hand priming tool. They sell the square primer tray as a replacement, if that what you want.

The last I looked Midway has the hand priming tool for $32 not $50.
