I used to do that to my dogs. They would go absolutely nuts over it. The pitch must be hard for them to zero in on because they could never figure out exactly where it was coming from but they would go bonkers trying to find it.

I definitely have to try the squeaker idea. The area we hunt has quite a few feral dogs and cross bred dingoes, so with a little luck it will work a treat.

Another sound I am thinking about trying to copy is the sound of a cow calving. Unfortunately they are a much hit target of preference by feral dogs out here. Not sure if it will bring the dogs in, but it can't hurt trying.

a new born lamb/goat bleat would be easier Mate and we all know how bad dogs can be on them wee defenseless critters.

Good idea Elvis...only thing is there aren't any goats or sheep in the area I hunt...it's all cattle. Having said that mate, the bleat of a calf would no doubt be just as useful I reckon.
