Scum bagbreaks into your house, you shoot him he lives = excessive force, police will take you to court, scumbag will sue you for wrongfull assult = you probably go to gaol, loose firearms and probably your house as well due to leagle fees, permant policerecord, banned from owning firearns
Scum bag breaks into your house, you shoot him he dies= excessive force and you are charged with murder or manslaughter and firearm offences = you probably go to gaol until trial, loose firearms and house as well due to leagle fees, permanent police record as murderer banned from owning firearms.

Yep, the scum bag will win because they use state paid attorney and you are using attorney paid from your own funds.
Even if you win the case, you lose on the cost.

That level of cynicism however unbecoming is absolutely true.

You are allowed self defence, your just not allowed to use greater force than the scumbag, doesnt seem to work out real well when the 50 kg victim is up against a 130 kg scumbag. But the public cameras will happily record you last final moments to help identify your body and what colour hoody the scumbag was wearing.
