What's a Nesika, never heard of em, but I did a bit of research and I may have gotten a deal at Bud's. Bud's runs a 180 day layaway on certain items of their choosing. I usually look through there at least once a day. Well they were advertising a Nesika sporter rifle which I've never heard of before so I looked it up and read several articles on it and I think I might have gotten a pretty good deal on what appears to be a very good quality rifle. The one I put a deposit on has a Bell and Carlson Medalist composite stock with aluminum bedding, a S.S. 24" Douglas air-gauged barrel chambered in 7mm-08, a fully adjustable Timney trigger preset at 3lbs., Leupold QRW scope bases, a one piece 4340 chrome moly steel bolt that's Cerakoted and a Nesika receiver of 15-5 S.S. All told, sometime in the next 180 days, it's going to cost me $880.

Not a bad looking rifle BB...but then again, most rifles look damn fine to me. The price seems reasonable as well, if the quality is there.

I believe a few guys use the action on target /long range rifles looks like you got a bargain.

Nesika actions are used for target rifles. Excellent quality. The sporter is $3499.00.

Yeah, I'd say you got a steal for $880.00.

Get it paid off and out of there quick.

The funny thing is that every other caliber of the sporter is selling for $2500 on the same website.

It was a nice dream while it lasted, Bud's just contacted me to say the order will be cancelled and payments refunded due to a problem with a system upgrade.

BS, they found out what they had!

Still trying to push this, I contacted Bud's and expressed my disappointment. A manager named David called back to explain the problem and apologize. I told him my local FFL would have honored a price that he had quoted. No go. I then offered to split the difference. No go. Well that's how it ended, not with a bang, but a whimper.

take it to a lawyer...you were offered it..paid in good faith..... have proof of purchase.... they are screwed.

Hmmmm, do I smell a "bait and switch" here? I hope you can work this out in your favor.

I'd push it BB...as RePete said, they realised what they had and have now reneged on the deal. I'll bet that they only paid a few hundred dollars for the rifle when they got it and added enough of a profit to bring the price up to $880.

I thought about it, but after looking at some of the fine print in their policies, I found this:We do not guarantee that titles, descriptions or pictures on our site are error-free. We reserve the right to refuse any order including but not limited to orders for items with errors in the description or price. In the event that we cancel an order we will not charge the customer's credit card or we will return the money.
When you place an order with them, your agreeing to these policies. Unfortunately though I hadn't heard of the Nesika a few days ago, now I find myself drooling for one. Of course at the going price of $2500, I won't be buying it.

point being they had completeted the order all bar delivery. they accepted your money, and gave receipt .
guess they wont be getting any business from you again.

I think that once they have taken your loot and given a receipt, a binding transaction has been made regardless of what their policy says.

Take it to a lawyer.
