If he cannot do it from Congress, there is another way.

That is discrimination!
I wonder if they can be sued on that base.

Notice that government grants and pharmaceutical sales are included. Some merchant categories that have been associated with high-risk activity include, but are not limited to:

Ammunition Sales
Cable Box De-scramblers
Coin Dealers
Credit Card Schemes
Credit Repair Services
Dating Services
Debt Consolidation Scams
Drug Paraphernalia
Escort Services
Firearms Sales
Fireworks Sales
Get Rich Products
Government Grants
Home-Based Charities
Life-Time Guarantees
Life-Time Memberships
Lottery Sales
Mailing Lists/Personal Info
Money Transfer Networks
On-line Gambling
PayDay Loans
Pharmaceutical Sales
Ponzi Schemes
Pornography
Pyramid-Type Sales
Racist Materials
Surveillance Equipment
Telemarketing
Tobacco Sales
Travel Clubs

And this below is from NRA-ILA ;
one banking website put it, “some of the merchant categories listed as ‘high risk’ are obvious choices. ‘Debt consolidation scams’ and ‘Ponzi schemes,’ for instance, should be unbankable, while others seem to be there simply because they're icky ….” In other words, regulators may be pressuring banks to consider not just the financial soundness of their business relationships but whether the nature of certain legal businesses could be considered (by the regulators or other persons of influence) personally or politically objectionable.

Sounds Obamish
Suz

Which banks are dumping firearms businesses? We should be able to fight back.

That is wrong in some many ways!!! It sounds to me like Whammy Obammy, through a back door is using the regulators to tell/instruct Banks with who they can and cannot do business. Last time I looked, it is the peri fatigue if the business owner who he/she/they choose to deal with...unless it is for something illegal.

How much longer do you guys have to suffer this moron??? Be interesting to see how deep the pile of crap is that he leaves behind when he finally leaves.

It would be nice to see him leave by impeachment and dishonor.

Here's an update from the National Shooting Sports folks;

NSSF Issues Statement on 'Operation Choke Point'

NEWTOWN, Conn. -- The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) today issued the following statement:

The National Shooting Sports Foundation has been investigating the possible role of the federal government in influencing banks in their lending and business banking relationship decisions regarding companies in our industry. We have heard from several industry members that they had banking relationships terminated by their lending institutions.

We respect the right of financial institutions to make business decisions based on objective criteria. It is unacceptable, however, to discriminate against businesses simply because they are engaged in the lawful commerce of firearms, an activity protected by the Second Amendment.

NSSF staff has met with members of the House Financial Services Committee and members of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee concerning several documents that have surfaced from the FDIC labeling companies in the firearms and ammunition industry as "high risk."

As a result, we have worked with U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) and expect that he will offer today an amendment to the FY15 Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill, which would prevent federal funds from being used as part of "Operation Choke Point" or in any effort targeting companies involved in the lawful commerce in firearms.

We will continue to investigate the extent of any improper government involvement and will update our members as more information becomes available.

Suz

Its about time someone look into these shady law makers misconduct.
The problem is if they were proven guilty, its the tax payers money that will be used to compensate.
