I have a great neighbor who is really getting interested in reloading and shooting. Yesterday, I was reloading .303 British rounds for an upcoming match when he stopped by for a visit. I asked if he ever reloaded and he said he had not. I allowed him to seat bullets and he acted like a kid in a candy shop. Now he wants to learn all about reloading rifle, pistol and shotgun rounds. He also wanted to know when we could cast bullets in the backyard. I have never had such an avid student. I will keep you posted. All the best...
Gil

My first casting session I just kept going to the point I had about 1500 bulleys for my 9mm. Once bitten by the bug and it spreads to take over your garage, workshop etc. He is lucky to have an experienced instructor.

That is great Gil...the next generation of shooters. It is most important that the older generation teach the younger ones the nitty gritty of the sport, from safety to shooting then reloading. I am now doing the same with one of my grandsons...had his first range visit and shot a few days ago. He too is taking a keen interest in reloading and casting.

When casting, remember one of the most important things is protection from the lead fumes...not good for young fellas, or us old farts for that matter.

You will find that you will have a great sidekick for hunting and range shooting mate, and you will also get the satisfaction of seeing him blossom into a safe keen hunter.
