The news channels are getting boring. The federal government is partially shutdown and I say so what. I really doubt that it will affect me in any significant way. How do you good folks see it? All the best...

I'm retired on two fairly good pentions. I doubt that I will see little if any change. I don't think I will miss the government anyway.

Normally I wouldn't care, but my brother is employed by the government and I hate to think of the hurt it could put on his family with young children.

Interestingly veteran's services are cut but the military will get paychecks. Our biggest employer is the government, let's see how they like the job now.

Elvis,
Police, hospitals and game wardens are not federal employees for the most part. They are state or local employees or in the case of hospitals are usually separate entities and salaries and wages are not directly impacted by the federal shutdown. Hope this helps. All the best...

The only people that will be missing a pay check are federal employes and not all of them for that matter. Essential services will continue as usual.
Tourist are the only ones to really suffer in this debacle.
Just think...a lot of useless entitlements are not going out. Love it.

Tourists and veterans are useless to them, they need those "entitled" folks to keep the votes coming in, so they're not going to cut any "services" for them. One day this will happen when the majority of us are on government health care, won't it be fun? I can't wait for the government to treat my ailments.....you know after they figure out the computer and how to work one and start thinkin about the logistics and stuff like that. Those seemingly little details, that actually make things work, come as second thoughts with these guys. What's important to them is flying the plane, not making sure there's gas in the tank and air in the tires and flight tests and pilots that can fly and inspections to pass. If it doesn't seem to be flying then they change the laws of physics and determine that rolling on the ground really fast is just as adequate as flying so they re-define it as flying. Government flying will be a bit slower, maybe at first, until we get the bugs figured out, but government flying is safer, more economical, environmentally friendly, creates jobs and there'll be fewer airplanes in the air, similar to our healthcare plan. Hospitals won't be overworked (because the long waiting times will assure it), it will create jobs (like unemployment counselling and drug abuse seminars) be more economical (until you pay your taxes) and less insurance fraud (cause individual fraud can't compete with government fraud). Well it's just started (Oct. first) how'z it goin? Can't sign up, computers out of whak, and Homer Simpson has the last word DUH!

"I will not compromise" It's your fault if the Goverment Shuts down. "I will not compromise" Give me what I want.

Remember, a "liberal's" idea of "compromise" is the same as any school yard bully; Give me your lunch money and I won't beat you up.
