Im looking at making a purchase online possibly through this site. Are they reliable and will I have any problems shipping down under I'm looking at a 6.5x55 Steel assembly only - no stock or sights etc.
The price is good but are there any hidden catches cost etc I need to be aware of

I have not bought from GunBroker.com but several friends have. I think how reliable it is depends on who is listing the item. I don't think GunBroker owns the equipment. I know this isn't much of a help. I'll try and talk to my fellow shooters and get more data.

You'll need to find someone prepared to export it who has the appropriate State Department licence.
IIRC there's some information on Gunbroker about this.

Gunbroker is just the auction host for the various things up for sale. You need to look at the individual seller, his history and requirements.
I've bought several things off gunbroker from reputable dealers, and for the most part I've had no issues. It really helps if you have a friendly easy to work with gun store on your end before you get to winning a firearm. In that case, your local store needs to send their FFL info to the seller, who then sends the firearm to them, where you complete the sale.
There are good sellers and bad sellers... look at their feedback history and make your own decision if its worth it or not.
