Not sure yet. Very Happy

We had a discussion about tools, many many years ago now it feels, and Bushy was a very strong supporter of SK Tools ( I had no idea they existed then Laughing ) when we talked tools before he retired. Shocked

And in significantly less time then what I thought it would take. Also for significantly less then Snap On wants, $500 including shipping to Canada for all of it verses around $1,500 from Snap on easy. Very Happy

Snapon are very good tools.
Its nice to see at least one other USA tool company is still operating with american made tools, most of the others get theirs made in Taiwan (who can make excellent quality tools).
Snapons warranty is unsurpassed, break it or wear it out you get a new one no questions asked, that is where a lot of the extra cost comes from.
My wifes not happy I've found another tool catalogue......
Have fun with your new acquisitions, the first of many I'll wager Smile

Some snapOn products no longer have their lifetime warranty.

Which is a shame because if you broke your "old" good for lifetime warranty stuff,
they will replace it with the new crappy no-lifetime warranty stuff, and thus your lifetime warranty expires.

They are, but I won't bother actually trying to match my sets to them 1:1 so there will be less Snap on Pieces (and not Blue Point, that is offshore) but ...

Set, Socket, Shallow/Deep, 6-Point (20 pcs.) (3/16" to 9/16") - $300
Set, Socket, Metric, Shallow/Deep, 6-Point (24 pcs.) (5mm to 15mm) - $375
Ratchet, Sealed Head (High Strength), Standard Handle, 4 7/16" - $65
Universal Joint, Friction Ball, 1 1/8" - $40

Driver, Standard Shank, 1/4" female square drive in handle, 6" - $30

Set, Socket, Shallow/Deep, 6-Point (22 pcs.) (1/4" to 7/8") - $400
Set, Socket, Metric, Shallow/Deep, 6-Point (24 pcs.) (8 to 19 mm) - $425
Ratchet, Round Head, 7 7/8", 100 teeth - $95
Universal Joint, Friction Ball, 1 11/16" - $45

So not including the extensions, the drive adaptors or the little hand ratchet thing SK has, the total bill with Snap On would be $1,775.

I paid before shipping $422 for my two sets. I'd need to get a 76% discount on the Snap on to make it the same. Both for American made tools. Shocked

snap-on quit their warranty back when I was still working. They were warranted at the option of the dealer.
Now Craftsman has deleted their unlimited guarantee of their hand tools.
There are still a few tools manufactured by folks who guarantee them forever but not many of the big names.

No lifetime warranty:
MAC
MATCO
Snap-on
Craftsman
There is one more that I can't think of.....

Wayne is part of Snap on now it seems.

SK Tools had a pretty rough little ride it seems since we talked about them and now, they were bought out by their management from Facom after Stanley bought Facom, went bankrupt, and now bought out by Ideal Tools.

Maybe it is for the best, Ideal seems to be interested in maintaining that image of made in the US tools, that was lost after Facom bought them out. And that their main competitor has started to fill their shelves with imported tools.

Mind you, Ideal now owns Western Forge (producing screwdrivers, punches, chisels, adjustable wrenches, and pliers), and Pratt-Read (Screwdrivers and nutdrivers) in the US.

SK does rebrand many of them now to their own name. So does Craftsman (who rebreands WF, PR & SK in their made in USA line), Snap on (who buys from PR), etc. Hence a lot of the tools looking the same it's because they are. Very Happy

It was interesting to learn a bit about tool manufacturing in the US before I pulled the plug and I bought the SK socket sets.
