This looks like a pretty good system...but I bet it is so expensive only the Government will be able to afford to buy one, or a few thousand. Very Happy

good points made in the comments under the article. nothing new really just made easier , cant see how it will overcome/teach the spot weld ,breathing,trigger control needed not to mention windage issues.
a wise man once said "get as close as you possibly can then get 5 yards closer".

They have just minturized and transfered precision targeting solutions to a firearm that have been used in jet fighters since the 1970s. They still have to deal with windage and animal movements which become more and more problematic at ranges beyond 300 yards.

Is that more of a computer controled trigger? It sort of suggests to it being a tracking bullet, but it's more of a tracking scope and trigger system. Put a dot on the target with the scope, then hold the trigger and when the scope sees the dot on the reticle it will fire. The placement of the dot is just as critical as pulling the trigger is when you don't have the system. You get a rump shot if the dot is placed on the rump, there has to be more precision than that to kill. If the scope could freeze-frame the target then let you place the dot where you want it, I think it would be well worth the money.

Do I get a dollar for that idea?

I think this capability is already here. A remote control rifle with a video feed from the scope has been use to allow people who are immobile to go hunting.

I believe that somewhere on the web is a safari type site where you log on and pay up big dollars to sit at home and view out of a hide through a video link then take aim and push button to shoot your trophy which then gets packed up and sent to you via the taxidermist!!!!
