Now that i don't know? It was designed for CQB and target because at longer distances the dot would cover the target. I have made 100 yard shots with it on my old G24 and G35, but it was very slow and controlled firing because the dot on my Optima covered about 8" @ 100 yards and i knew the 10 ring was there.....somewhere Wink And yes, i did hit it Very Happy

So really, with practice and good eyes, i'd think you could be accurate 50 to 75 yards, but beyond would be streaching it.

I never shoot beyond 75 yards (at game) unless I have a real steady rest. I have shot my G-20 at 100 yards from a bench and got a solid 5 inch group with 200gr bullets that I reloaded. Very Happy
I checked the DR Optic web sight and they have a 3.5 moa dot for hunting hand guns and short range rifles. they cost 345.99 Shocked Ouch!

I use a Stoney point Pole Cat for shooting now with most shots, although with even my guns that had the Optima or Dr. on it, 5" took a lot of concentration as to where irons were always right on (and faster) for me. I do know though that if you were to put a rail mount and a Burris Speed Dot (3 MOA) on your G20, you could look at 100 yards and say....3" no problem Wink

I didn't know Dr. made a 3.5 MOA version yet (must be part of the 2.5-3rd generation), which is cool, but i'd never pay that for it now! The thing i was always concerned with is that damn cap and protecting the glass because i have lost the cap many of times. Just to think if i were out in the woods and lost it, i would not be to happy with it getting wet, because no, they are NOT waterproof and dustproof like they claim without the cap being on at all times (LEO models at around $699 *about 5 years ago* were waterproof), or if the glass were to get scrached.

I dont know, I'm going to check into a few more sight options before I make up my mind.
I have looked at the rail mount sold by Glockmiester, looks cumbersome to me, and not a very sturdy mounting. Looks like it also would make a holster hard to find for hunting.

The sight mount from Glockmeister is a good one, BUT....will not fit large framed Glocks---G20 & 21...... and holster options are going have to be a pouch style, or competition style IPSC (or the likes) altered to fit large frame, and strapped to your leg. But do understand, if you have a 2nd generation G20 these will not work because you need the accessory rail, and the mounts that fit are out there, but not easy to find under $100 Carver Mounts <--------Shoot them an e-mail to see if it's compatable.

Crackshot, you have a "brand new" cut rifled barrel.....you need to break in the barrel before you can expect any kind of consistant and grouping accuracy. Plus, you WILL expierence malfunctioning with the possibility of stove piping and jamming, but that WILL go away after a few (500 maybe more) rounds. Once you have, in essence "fire lapped" the barrel you shoul not have any more problems..........BUT, in the event you do continue to have problems, call KKM or where you got it from and they will gladly help you, or replace the barrel.

Well I froze my A#$ off, But........ I finaly got a decent group with this new barrel, center to center 1.96 @ 50 yds. The load is Starline cases loaded with 190gr FPJ over 9.6gr Blue dot and winchester standard primers. C.O.A.L 1.250". That 4 chamber comp works, I video taped my shooting session and changed to the stock barrel ..... and wow, what a difference.
I will try some Rainier 200gr HP's next. Will let you know.

Still, with those groups that's telling me it still needs to be broken in.....You will be at or under 1" without a questionable doubt! Cool
