So I am off again to nearby state forest.

I hope for a deer, but then again, it may not be fruitful because the hunt is in a state forest and it is weekend.
Hopefully it is cold enough for the casual visitors to stay home.


So what have you plan to do this weekend?

sleep in, watch my daughter play soccer, cut some firewood, check my trap line and maybe just shoot another duck from the section.

Its a three day weekend here because Memorial Day is Monday. Hope to hit a gun show Sat and maybe go kayaking one day.

Will be painting my livingroom before company comes over for our long weekend. Will than fire up the smoker and later on enjoy some BBQ'd ribs and beverages.

Put in some hay and sit back and honor those who "gave all".

Watching the rain ruin my weekend again. Well actually it was 1/2 day of sun yesterday and in the mid 60s which felt like 80. I'm so strapped for cash right now, I'm not goin anywhere. My weekend started Thursday and I've been turning wood into bowls and other stuff. Once I get enough stuff made I'll have a yard sale or something. I'm working but it's fun work. Going to visit all the dead relatives and plant some memorial flags, but don't know which day I'll do that. Lookin forward to next week as I'll get a paid day off and 4 days of work, haven't seen that many paid days a week in months. Pay check to pay check sux and gas on the west coast is about 55 cents higher than the rest of the country. OOOoooo pooor me. I'm actually lovin it, staying home and puttering around the house, but not bein able to go anywhere, is the pitz.

I hear ya Suz...been living from fortnightly pension payment to fortnightly pension payment for 10 yrs now, most important thing though is I can pay the bills. But as you say, pottering about the house is relaxing.

I have however been fortunate enough to pick up a day or two each fortnight delivering gelato for a small family concern, which puts a little drinking/reloading money in my kick every now and again.

again no luck this time, it was drizzling all the time, I am soaking wet and miserable.
it was cold too, about 2 C at 8pm, and -5c in the morning.

I'm glad to have a go tho.. Nothing beats time spent in the bush.. Well almost nothing..


Memorial day? It must be a custom similar to the 'tomb cleaning festival' for the Asian.
