Anyways a update on the kitchen ....

Installed the drawers she picked out (35$ for 2 drawers with this, instead of the 55$ per drawer Home Depot wanted for the kitchen drawers + the drawers face plate itself you'd need at a extra 10$ each). Also installed a cabinet door on the remaining space.



And yes there are drawers:



Also the trim is done on the other side so no more raw lumber.



And she asked me to push the sink to match the counter top at the front, lucky for me it was about 3.5" so using 2x4's with some trim worked well:



Its all pre-primed trim so need to paint it, and still waiting back on quotes for the electrician, then a bit of pluming, installing the wall cabinet, and tiling the wall's backsplash and I'll be done.

Lookin pretty good Dimi, specially like the sink faucet, what brand is it? Reminds me of living on a boat with tight quarters.

Well I installed the stove top, but letting the electrician wire it.

The wife has a bunch of cutting boards all tiny (10 by 5 inches or so) cause she must wash it like a dish, bought her a bigger one a few months ago but because it was too big and heavy for sink washing it she never uses it.

In counter cutting boards will probably be unused with her.

Actually didn't pay attention to brand for anything but the stove top, which I wanted a make that is respectable. Other then that I didn't really pay much attention period.

Ok Dimi this reminds me of my last boss before he sold the practice. He was building a huge hide-away home in another town far far away. He'd tell us nothing until the day he retired. Mostly because it was embarrassing to disclose to his employees the enormity of the hide-away house after we hounded him for years for pay raises. "nope...sorry...we're just not making much income lately....can't afford it" Well anyway at his retirement party (of which he had two, and he never did retire), I asked him for his new address. He didn't know......and he didn't know his e-mail address either...."ask my wife...she knows." His wife was known for incessant laughing at anything you said and when I asked her she said "Oh how funny, everyone's asking and I just can't remember right now." Not that it was of great importance to me or that they probably had the information somewhere on their person, but I thought they should at least be prepared to answer, since they were moving and they called us "family" (so heart-warmingly). Obvious they just plain didn't want me (or us) to know.

Now I'm not saying that you don't want me know what the brand is. I'm just thinkin, judging from the size of the kitchen, that it's probably only about 3 steps from your computer and you could probably read the name on the faucet from where you're sitting. I'm actually quite sure it's a guy thing that's goin on here. I say that because most times I say something on here it gets screwed into something it isn't and so you don't need an excuse to slide by this one.

Can you see why I'm not married? I can poke an eye out without even moving, sometimes I don't even know how harsh things sound until it's too late to retreat (alright...most times). Didn't mean to batter you Dimi, actually it was fun just trying my prose. I really don't care what brand it is, I'd probably have to buy a new sink to have one anyway. I do like it tho and I bet your "wife" will too. And NO I'm not acknowledging or congratulating a "marriage" by convenience, as that would only encourage more people to escape responsibility, honor, integrity and taxes. OOOPPSS!! there I go again!! If you DO decide to have children you might consider getting hitched. Your children will appreciate the fact.

Actually no, the house is rather big (~2000 sq feet, just no kitchen for the wife to use in the first floor seeing as we are renting the back side of the first floor with its own bedroom out and that is where the kitchen is ), and my computer is here, in the basement:

But anyways I checked, there is no markings on the sink, its some sort of no name I'd imagine, considering the costs (like $150 total) I'm not surprised it doesn't list a name.

I don't know about the US, but here taxes are lower when your a couple here, marriage of convenience or otherwise. The Tax people here allow you to file jointly after 12 months of living together.

Thanks Trbls....it was meant to be funny, hope Dimi thought so too, sorry Dimi, I was feelin my oats. Funny about the taxes here, I never figured out the whole marriage thing, but I think married couples get the shank here. It used to be the other way around. Jointly or single prep., I dunno. This year mine was awful, had to pay out $60, never had to pay out before. Thank you Mr. President for giving me a 25hr work week and higher taxes. Nothing like the twilight years becoming harder to fend for yourself.

You've done a nice job on the kitchen Dimi, kinda cute really, at least you can make popcorn and clean the dishes.

I could probably talk to you for days and not get a point across. If I'd said now you can cook some shrimp and clean the dishes too, you'd probably say you don't eat fish, when in fact the type of food is entirely mute and is just a form of saying that your kitchen is well equipped, as a kitchen should be. I could have said well now you can cook and clean the dishes, and wouldn't that be a bit boring.

English is a wonderful language, once understood, but the ins and outs of conversation must be a real trial for some. Take Vinnie for instance. Now if I asked Vinnie for some ideas on what to wear in the summer time in AussieLand, he'd probably screw it around into some sort of thing like, I'm asking if he wears anything under that kilt. Ok same with Bushmostooker. He'd have me dancin around in some stripper outfit complete with pasties. Not that I'm an innocent person asking an innocent question, (I just play that way on the board) but couldn't a person just get an answer in line with the same question? Mom didn't teach me how to be coy, manipulative and sneaky, (I had to learn that the hard way) but at least you could give me the benefit of the doubt.

On another note, I'm curious that you're getting an electrician to power up that kitchen. I would think that an electrician wouldn't get near that kitchen. Since it's an unattached non-permanent wall, I'd think he'd have reservations about, or at least some liability problems with the whole thing. I suppose he could wire it to plug into an outlet on the permanent wall, but with the draw of the stove and the dishwasher, it seems a bit much. I'm curious about how he's going to do it.

I can't wait to hear what part of this note you're going to answer. Probably something about Vinnie's undershorts?

I don't know about that, English is a rather gawd awful language, very imprecise, and very vague in use. Comes with having to use a tiny regular vocabulary with a great deal of words coming from different languages that sounded similar, and yet got merged over the centuries into one word, or at least a couple of words that sound identical to each other.

Similar to "Please close the door" and "Don't get too close to the edge", or things such as "I will cut some bark off the tree" verses "The dog bark is loud".

Depends if there is a answer to be given I'd imagine, considering I don't pay attention to the details women tend to, such as the make of the sink, all I can really say is "Something from home depot". Its hard to give a answer to something you don't know the answer of.

There is doubt in my mind about everyone I meet, and everyone I know. Just as your mother didn't teach you to be coy, manipulative and sneaky, mine didn't teach me to be suspicious and second guessing about everyone's motives, I just do that naturally.

"Surface wiring" is legal, both here in Canada and in the United States, you just have to run either conduit, or AC90 flexible armored wiring. The AC90 is what comes with most dishwashers and stoves. I'm sure you've seen it.

Suzy, Suzy, Suzy...I have this absolutely wonderful array of mental pics floating through my mind of things I could get you to wear in an Aussie summer.

As for wht's worn under my kilt...ummm...I know, shoes and socks. But seriously, nothing is worn under my kilt...it's all in perfect working order.
