Magpies round here are considered a pest, due to their propensity for robbing chicks from other birds' nests.
Part of our agreement for shooting rights on one of the local farms is that we target the magpies.

heres a tip for you then English Mike,
find where they are nesting and go visit at night with the .12ga. a super x #2 through the bottom of the nest takes them all out at once, it works a treat.

Hold your horses...
in my opinion the UK is still in Europe...
and there is a european law protecting crows and magpies...
Every year I have to write a letter to our government and our local majors to say we are going to shoot these poor birds for damage control.
In the UK almost all guns our banned and they are allowed to shoot these bastards?
acting like someone on this forum I feel the need to end with:
STUPID EUROPE!

well Aloy if its dive bombing my head it will get the .12ga treatment, the only birds that are allowed to get away with that are our native falcons commonly refered to as sparrow hawks, they look like a perigwin falcon somewhat and are a beautiful bird to see. they will see you off if you are within 100 yrds or so of thier nest but otherwise are never a bother. they nest away in the backblocks so usually dont come into conflict with humans.

You got to get some of those varmint grenades for the 243. They will mist-ta-fy them crows.
