I came home last night to discover that my neighbors who moved here from south of the (US) border have cut two huge holes in my chain link fence. Seems that they were kicking their soccer ball over the fence and were too lazy to use the gate to go get it. Local law enforcement is looking in to it and I found out tonight that another neighbor actually saw them do it. Seems to me that if a group of people don't want to be stereotyped then they shouldn't try so hard to act like the stereotype.

Holy crap - You have some real whackos on your hands. I can't imagine anyone doing this and thinking nothing would come of it. They had best pay the bill for fence repair.

There goes the old saying "Good fences make good neighbors."

Wow, Pumpkinslinger what a shame, sorry.

Funny part is they are so good at climbing over fences, wonder where they got the bolt cutter to cut the holes, maybe from the Muslim living across the street. (I apologize.)

Well Punkin...time to invest in some more, shall we say, "active" forms of property separation. Maybe a hedge of Poison Ivy, but I do like the idea of an electric fence...240V of course...and a couple of angry Rottweilers would be comforting as well.

I don't like your chances of reparation for the damage they have caused. Seems that the minority groups attract the most Legal Aid, whilst you have to pay for your own should you decide to take legal action.

Oh well, there is always the option of "don't get mad, get even"...I'm sure there is some way of "dealing" with them.

Cheers, Vince

Vince, you hit on something there. The area inside the fence where they were crossing is slam covered in poison ivy! I suggested that the deputy look for people with rashes. I'm pretty sure that I'd never get the low lifes to pay for the damage but we'll see what develops.

Anyone know of a good thorny plant that will grow well in shade, under some big pines? There might be some cameras positioned back there too.

How about some Agave plants! They don't need much water or sun.

Gorse...Beautiful flowering plant with yellow blossums. A very (1" long) thorny plant. Good ground cover if you can control it.

Planted some in my grandmothers flower beds to keep the kids from taking a short cut across her flowers. It will flatten both tires in the crossing.

Shocked

LOL! I love these responses! Thanks!

Well, my "eye witness" told the Sheriff's dept. that he didn't see anything... They were familiar with him and said he wasn't a very reliable source.

Nah, he needs to get some of them angry Texas jackrabbits, that'll do the trick.
