Thank's guys, I appreciate the compliments and glad you like the rifles....
Chambered221 - that first stock shown on the 7mm WSM is an H-S Precision Pro Series Varmint/Tactical stock...
As far as the bolt handle goes, I turned down the bolt knob, threaded it and screwed on that tactical bolt knob....

Thought so.........That's the stock I wanted to put on my Remington 40X !!!
They don't make it for the 40X (single shot) nor do they do any modifications or custom orders. They do however make a bench model for the 40X.
I was going to get one for a 700 and put ADL bottom metal on but they wouldn't/couldn't tell me if the barrel channel is cut the same on the two stocks. Trying to get them to understand the 2 guns are virtually the same thing was about impossible.
I've since been considering re-barreling and have held off till I figure out what barrel contour I'll go with.
It appears to me (from your pictures) that the barrels on those guns are not a factory varmint contour and you probably opened the channels some. Another subject HS didn't want to talk about. Any advise you could give on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

chambered221,
None of the barrels are factory varmint contour. Two of them have a muzzle diameter of 1.200"...
None of the barrel channels had to be opened up and are as they came from the factory...
Here are two 240 Weatherby Magnum rifles that I built and both have the same style H-S Precision Target stocks. These will work with your 40X action as a single shot as it has no BDL cut out. I bedded a single shot follower to these two rifles and converted them to single shot....

DS,
Fabulous rifles, thanks so much for sharing them with us! There aren't too many fans of the 7mm WSM, but I'm one of them. I had a Winchester Mod. 70 chambered for that cartridge and loved it.
Darned if you don't have me thinking of building another long range rifle.

OK...after spending the last 15 minutes going over these pics, I now find that I have "drooled up" my keyboard.
As usual DS, you have managed to impress the h3ll out of me. It doesn't matter how many of your works of art I see mate, I always come away feeling like I have just found the epitome of firearm workmanship.
Damn it....I want one of each...especially the .243magnificent. Thanks mate.
Cheers, Vince

Thank's Vince and others, I'm glad you like these rifles...
Vince - if you ever get to the states, I'll let you shoot one of my custom rifles. I have a lot of fun EXPLODING 12 oz. soda pop cans at 600 yards and I believe you would too...
Don - this is the first 7mm WSM that I have built and after studying the case for a while, I kinda got the hankering for one for myself. My favorite cartridges though are the 6mm-284, 280 Ackley Improved, 7mm STW and 300 Weatherby...
If you guys like the T/C Encore, I'll post a couple of pictures of them that have been "customized"....

Thanks for the info DS !!!
I truly want the varmint/tactical stock, I do not favor the looks of a flat bottom target model nor need it for my shooting.
I think everyone would enjoy seeing more of your work.....please post them there pictures.
