Folks,
It will now cost 10 percent more to buy a Charles Daly Mauser from Remington. Big Green will sell Mauser rifles. All the best...

Dear Charles Daly patrons:

Our monthly newsletter has not been published for several months due to the fact that the Charles Daly product line has been going through major changes for 2006. We apologize for keeping you in the dark, but the work had to be completed before we could let everybody know what we’ve been up to.

All of the changes that we have made will be incorporated into our website over the next few weeks. Please visit us often over the next few months to see details on all our new products.

One of the first changes you will notice is that we are no longer importing any products from Zastava of Serbia. All of our Mauser and Mini-Mauser bolt action rifles, barreled actions and actions as well as our Superior II rimfire rifles and the ZDA pistols are now discontinued. Zastava has decided to join with Remington Arms for now, so in the very near future you should be able to purchase Mauser (Remington Model 798), Mini-Mauser (Remington Model 799) and Zastava rimfire rifles (Remington Model Five) for approximately 10% more than you were paying for the Charles Daly brand. We don’t think Remington will be selling actions or barreled actions but that remains to be seen. We do know that Remington will not be selling the ZDA pistol.

There are still some inventories of Charles Daly Mausers, Mini-Mausers, actions and barreled actions in the channel of distribution. We suggest you buy them now before you have to pay 10% more for the exact same product, if you can get it at all.

Another major change has occurred to our over and under and side by side shotgun lines. Our Field, Superior and Empire over & unders and side by sides from Italy and Spain are discontinued. For 2006, all of our over & unders and side by sides will be manufactured in Turkey.

We have been waiting patiently for several years while the Turks over & under and side by side quality has risen year after year. A few of the Turkish manufacturers are now at a quality level equal to, or in some cases better than their counterparts in Italy and Spain while their prices are half what you’ll pay for an equivalent Italian or Spanish shotgun.

We have three new grades of over & unders, the Model 105, Model 106 and Model 206. We have one new side by side, the Model 306.

The Model 105 is a great looking over & under with some basic features at a remarkable price. Available in 12 gauge only right now, this model has a silver engraved receiver, Turkish walnut stocks, double triggers, extractors and fixed chokes at an incredible MSRP of $399.00.

The Model 106 is an excellent over & under with many more features and inlaid receiver with a MSRP of $549.00. Available in 12, 20, 28 and .410 gauges, this model includes a blued receiver with four gold bird inlays, Turkish walnut stocks, single selective trigger, extractors and multi-chokes.

The Model 206 will be our top of the line over & under for 2006. It is absolutely beautiful with an introductory price that is incomparable. Featuring an elegant silver receiver with select Turkish walnut stocks, the Model 206 will incorporate a single selective trigger with selective automatic ejectors and Multi-Choke tubes. In 2006 it will be available in 12 gauge only in both hunting and competition models. At a starting MSRP of $599.00 it has to be seen to be believed. We’ll put it up against any of our competitors that cost $1,000.00 more. Some who have seen it already have commented that the wood alone would be worth the cost of this shotgun.

The Model 306 side by side shotgun is another great value. Featuring an elegantly engraved blued receiver with Turkish walnut pistol grip buttstock and beavertail forearm, this fine double has a single selective trigger, extractors and Multi-Choke tubes. Initially it will be available only in 12 gauge, with 20 gauge coming in the 3rd quarter of this year. The MSRP is only $649.00.

Another new project is the addition of our Z-Series (Zamak) and S-Series (Steel) double action revolvers in .22LR, .38Spl. and .357 Magnum. Made in the Czech Republic, these revolvers represent a great value in this type of handgun.

Our Enhanced steel 1911 pistols have undergone some improvement as well. Updated features include a new trigger shoe and hex key grip screws. In the next few months we will have the EFS and EFST models in .40S&W and .38Super. Also, our new Hi-Cap model will finally be delivered in the EFS size in .45ACP and .40S&W. A Hi-Cap Target version in .45ACP will be ready soon!

We are expanding our “Cowboy” guns again this year. Look for the new Birdshead and Lightning model 1873 revolvers. Later this year a Bisley model will also be ready. More lever action and single shot rifles have also been added to our line.

We still don’t have a fully rifled barrel for our pumps and semi-auto shotguns but for 2006 we have added our new ERCT models which come with Extended Rifled Choke Tubes and either adjustable rifle sights or cantilever mounts.

As you can see, we have been very busy at Charles Daly as we continue to fulfill our mission of being “The Shooting Sports Specialist”.

Check back here often at www.charlesdaly.com over the next few weeks as we update our website.

Sincerely,
Charles Daly
