I heard about a "mass shooting rampage" in New York this morning on the news. The latest news (about 8PM here) seems to indicate that it was a single murder and the cops shot the other nine people...

WTF?!?! The "mass shooting" was by the police!
"One witness told police that the gunman fired at officers, but authorities say ballistics evidence so far doesn't support that. They say Johnson's .45-caliber weapon held seven rounds. He fired five times at Ercolino, killing him. One round was still in the gun, and one was ejected when officers secured it."
The police fired 14 rounds. There should have been no more than 2. One dead and 9 wounded. I can see the news spin it now, above average shooting at least 10 hits out of 14 shoots.
The NYPD needs to beg off some of that ammo from the National Weather service and practice some more.

Never ceases to amaze me how Bloomberg always points the finger at something else. Take a look at Chicago which is on track to set an all time high in shootings and people killed. These 2 cities with one of the strictest gun controls across the nation is proof that it does not work. Take a look at the following link where 13 people were shot in 30 minutes!!

It seems like Chicago is regressing back to the gangster days. They can have 38 people shot dead over a weekend and it doesn't make the news.
Back to this story. Those cops caused more harm than good. They weren't fired upon and shot 14-16 times. That was reckless of them to fire so many rounds on a crowded street. They were not justified in their actions and they were very lucky they didn't kill someone else.

After seeing a video of the actual police shooting I'm sure that they were suffering from tunnel vision and never even realized the bystanders were there. I am wondering though how many times they hit the bad guy because they were pretty darn close.

How tragic. Looks like the final count is the shooter one and the police 9 or 10. One news report says a few bystanders might have been hit by police "grazing" fire. Imagine that. Take care...

The only video I could find on it was from ChinaDaily (what?) Oh wait I found another one this one seems to be made by a pedestrian witnessing it as it happened. He should have sold that video instead of posting it on YouTube.

Keep shooting till he stops twitching approach. Once the gunfire starts what stops it? My DW wants to go to NY next year. I don't but SWMBO will prevail. Won't feel safe until back on the Island.

Yes and blumberg was quick to put the typical liberal half-truth spin on it saying that all of the victoms had sustained non life threatening wounds and were being treated for them-while the police were still investigating the shootings!When on another channel he had made a statement saying that some of the victoms might have been hit by "grazing" police gunfire.Next he will say that george bush probably had something to do with it! 
Looks to me that by the postures and the reaction times that he actually had the drop on those 2 leos closest to him!Don't point a gun unless you intend to use it!And those cops need more range time-make blumberg pay for the ammo-he's got deep pockets!
