I had talked to a good friend (Joe) of mine who owns 600 acres of land out here about doing some target shooting at his place instead of driving 60 miles to the nearest shooting range. There was no problem and he told me that anytime I wanted come out, and do it. Very Happy

This morning I received a phone call that the wife answered at 7am and it was the wife of Joe who was hysterical on the phone that she lost 2 house cats and one jack russell pup Sad who was only 5 months old who were outside doing their thing earlier.

Turns out they were killed by what I thought were yotes, so I grabbed the 22-250, shells and loaded up the mp3 player with yote calls and headed out the door to his place. Joe accompanied me to set up the player about 700 yards from his house and then took to our stands up in a tree.

About 45 minutes after calling, we heard 2 shots Shocked that came from his neighbors house, so we packed up everything and headed towards his place. Imagine our surprise when upon walking up to the neighbors there was a feral pig shot.

I have never seen a wild pig in this area and I did call the local game warden and he came out and took some samples of blood and asked us if it would be ok if he took the carcass back to his station and we said "go for it".

After talking with him for a little while, he said it's getting to be more of a problem in this area as of lately. He did say again if you see anymore to shoot on sight. Shooting Shooting

Just as we were finishing having a beer with the neighbors, Joe spots something moving out in the field about 4-500 yards away. Looking thru binoculars it was 3 yotes just at the edge of the timberline.

Needless to say, I think you know where I will be early tomorrow morning using my 22-250 using varget 34grs with hornady 60grs Vmax . Very Happy Very Happy

Sounds like there is some sick yotes there that need a little doctorin' OV1...I can thoroughly recommend a lead Aspirin...or maybe a lead injection mate. Works every time I hear. Very Happy Very Happy

Good luck buddy...looking forward to reading the outcome mate.

Well guys and gals, it was a bust this am. Sad We had pretty violent storms during the night and early am. But I still headed out to the woods and after 6hrs I gave up, as a matter of fact, I didn't even see one animal. Shocked

Maybe it was the weather as there were trees, power lines down. When I got back home the wife told me that a tornado further up north west in Mapleton wiped 1/2 the town off the map.

If anyone from Iowa would remember, this is almost the same area that killed boy-scouts last year during the tornado. Now I have to head out and do some serious yard work of picking up branches from my trees. Mad Mad

But, I am off on Wednesday and will try again with them yotes Mother Nature willing. Smile

Didn't get a chance today as the wife had a list of things for me to do. Looks like the weekend for me. SWMBO for me.
