We finally had a break in our severe weather of late. Was able to get out this morning and hunt some birds. Went to one of my favorite spots just down the road. Wasn't long and my little lab had me into birds. They were holding very well today. I shot two and called it good. I let her work birds the rest of the walk back to the truck. It was a great 30 degree above morning. What fun it is to be out on a perfect day as this with a great hunting buddy. Hope you all are having a great season. Very Happy

Very nice looking birds Moose. Some good chow there I reckon.

Your "girlie" there looks great too...she looks like she is saying "well...is that all...c'mon...lets get back out there". Laughing

Cheers, Vince

No Elvis, its a electronic collar used to remind her to be sure and obey commands. Can't remember the last time I've had to use it though.
She's a pretty good girl. Still finding alot of birds and having a good time, though the snow is now here and temps are now starting to dip below zero.
Soon we will be out chasing rabbits again. Thats always fun. Very Happy

great to hear your finger stays off THE button man those things are dynamite if used correctly. Ive seen the good and the not so good with them.Ive mellowed alot with my dogs now and they get away with alot but we get there. my cocker struggled with the 2 geese I dropped today he got the first in with some mucking around but wouldnt play ball on the 2nd so I waded over and put it in his gob held it there and started wading back he got the idea pretty quick and finished the retrieve ok a big pat from me and all was happy again.Im trying to get him to pickem up via the neck cause its heaps easier for the wee fella and if he bites to hard when tripping over it its ok. keep up the good work I look forward to some more .270ed moose pictures soon.

I lived in the south east North Dakota for 18 years .That was some of the best bird hunting I ever had. Left there 13 years ago ,looks like its still as good.
