never managed to catch up with the big boy. maybe next time. my wife has been giving me absolute raspberries about not shooting it. the coment "pretty antlers ' gets used any time I want to head out. she has finally forgiven me as I bowled a yearling red hind this morning. steak for tea yippee.

Elvis, you did the right thing. A couple years ago I was hunting with my daughter and we had a beautiful 4 point buck walk it to within about 25'. I had the gun on him but let him walk. When my daughter asked why I didn't shoot it told her that maybe next year he'd be a beautiful 6 or 8 point. I didn't get to hunt at all last year so maybe I'll get to see him again this year.

I gotta agree with your sentiments Elvis...although I am not a trophy hunter and a big rack really doesn't mean much, if anything, to me.

Well done mate. I liken it to shooting a doe with a fawn at hoof...not acceptable to me.

Cheers, Vince
