Noting Bushy's comment re: a possible political forum, I agree some sort of place is needed, but WHO would read it?
Certainly not those who are interested in well-reasoned, logical thought, and understanding the arguments of both sides.
We all have great joy at the recent Supreme Court decision, but it is rather like those who congratulate themselves after the battle, lay their weapons aside, relax, and die in the counterattack.
WHO is willing to DO something, and keep doing it?
Yes, it would take time away from American Idol, or Jethro, (Earl?) or Deal or No Deal,
orrr... whatever mindless entertainment happens to be on this week...
We all need to DO something, if only to preserve our complaining rights.
LOOK at what may be looming on the horizon!
Hunters/shooters think it has been bad until now?
Take a few minutes, and it doesn't take much more, study the issues/candidates, and see who seems to parrot your beliefs, (and that's all it is, parroting) then do what you think is right.
Join the organization of your choice, one that does seem to be fighting for YOUR rights, however you may perceive them. Spend a few $$$ to inform yourself and $upport the candidate of your choice.
THEN VOTE! Does it do any good? YES! We just voted out a do little, ignore his constituents, smooth-talking, went to Washington to do good and has done "Well" incumbent , good ol' boy Congressman. He just can't underestand why he lost.
Hopefully, the new man will do better. During his campaign, he personally answered his cell phone, and spent ab few minutes answering my questions.
Surprised the heck out of me when the Wee Hen voted for him, too. As you can tell, I don't have much facility for convincing others of my viewpoint.
Well, enough of the cumudgeonly rant.
