I have not started handloading for my M1A yet, but have been trying different factory loads to see what the accuracy potential might be. Today I was shooting Federal 150 grain loads and was extremely pleased with the groups I was getting. At 100 yards shooting from the prone position with the rifle forend resting on a rolled up sleeping bag, I shot numerous sub MOA groups. My M1A is the Bush rifle model, not a match rifle, however I did glass bed the receiver and gas block. I mounted a 2-7 Leupold using the A.R.M.S. 18 mount. Here is a three shot group I could cover with a dime.

Thanks guys, it definitely is a keeper. Was shooting it again tonight and getting similar groups. It seems to be an honest sub MOA rifle with the cheap Federal 150 grain factory loads. I want to try it with some match quality ammo off a bench and see if I can shrink the groups even more. I have been doing all my shooting prone off a rolled up sleeping bag.
