In know way, shape or form am I trying to steel this topic, claim the Idea as mine, or anything else. I do however feel that this is a very important issue that needs to be of its own topic.
Thank you Dust54 to bringing this to our attention.

Let's get this started now!!
Department of the Interior Extends Deadline for Comments Regarding Right-to-Carry in National Parks and Wildlife Refuges Until August 8. Gun owners, Right-to-Carry permit holders, and all Second Amendment supporters must deluge the Department of the Interior with comments in support of this proposal! The new deadline for submitting comments is August 8, 2008.
As citizens of the United States, we always have the right to speak up for our beliefs, but anytime that we have been asked for our opinions by our government, we have an even greater opportunity for our voices to be heard. A very recent and most important example is the Colorado Division of Wildlifes public meeting to hear the concerns with the proposed prairie dog regulations to make it illegal to hunt these pests for any reason. The public comment and turn out was extremely overwhelming, and ended the ridiculous proposed regulation promptly.
We now have a greater opportunity as citizens to voice our opinions in order to advance and improve our second ammendment rights, to better protect ourselves and loved ones in places that we previously could not, and to bring the gun talk and issues back where they belong, with the law abiding gun owners of this great land.
Below are links to the Department of Interior, and their page on the topic, as well as another link with instruction on how to send your comments.
