An NPR radio program had a guest who was a famous WWII flying ace.

Announcer: "well folks, we have a real treat today, we have with us Ole Johanson, who shot down 10 Nazi planes in one day! Ole, why don't you tell us how you accomplished this amazing feat?"

Ole: "Vell, der I vas, flying at ten-tousand feet, ven suddenly I saw tree Fokkers coming out of der clouds."

Announcer: "We should explain to the folks at home that a Fokker is a German plane with three engines and"

Ole: "No, No, dese Fokkers ver Messerschmidts!"

They actually have a Fokker Museum in Holland, where examples of Anthony Fokker's aircraft are on display.
(He was Dutch, not German.) They have a reproduction of his very first airplane, which they have christened "The mother Fokker". Wink
